Galaxy Cluster Merger Catalog

Binary cluster merger with mass ratio of 1:3, initial impact parameter of 1 Mpc, at an epoch of 3.8 Gyr. Magenta indicates X-ray emissivity, blue indicates mass density. Image credit Joseph DePasquale (CfA).

Welcome to the Galaxy Cluster Merger Catalog!

This catalog provides data from a number of simulations of galaxy clusters and galaxy cluster mergers. Specifically, for each simulation you will find projections of simulated observable quantities of simulated galaxy clusters and cluster mergers. These synthetic observations span a number of wavebands, from millimeter to X-ray. The goal is to provide both observers and theorists in the area of galaxy clusters a resource for comparing simulated data to real observations. The simulation data has been post-processed using yt.

The catalog and its data are hosted on the yt Hub, provided by the Data Exploration Lab at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
